About

Furballs of Atlanta is a non-profit, charitable cat rescue and adoption organization dedicated to finding furever homes for homeless cats in need. We accept surrendered cats/kittens and rescue our furballs from all sorts of backgrounds including from City Shelter/Animal Control euthanasia.

And while it is nearly impossible for us and other organizations to admit every single homeless and sick cat into our Home Haven— we try our very best to find refuge within our network of other cat rescues for intake or partner with local TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) organizations as a secondary option to reduce local cat euthanasia rates.

Our Mission

And for our mission— we are dedicated to rescuing and providing love, care and shelter for cats in need. But our mission doesn't stop there. We believe that every cat deserves a safe haven, a place where they can find comfort, care, and the chance to be adopted into their furever homes. We also strive to help pet owners in our supported communities stay together with their furry companion(s) during hardship through assistance programs.

Creating a world where no cat is left behind is our never-ending vision and we are passionate about making it a reality everyday.

Our Furball Haven

Currently, our rescue organization is home and foster based. Opening a cat shelter is one of our biggest dreams and we are hoping to make our wishes come true soon. With a cat shelter, we’ll be able to rescue and rehabilitate more cats in need and further connect with our community.

Get answers to some of our most asked questions.

As a charitable non-profit organization, we get a lot of our funds from courteous donations.
Coming Soon— we’ll also be launching our online store as another revenue stream to support our organization.
We rescue surrendered and homeless cats in need, but do not provide animal control services. Per Georgia Law established by Georgia Department of Agriculture, stray cats found roaming the streets, parking lot or your neighborhood are to be reported to your local Animal Control Facility for a 5 day stray hold. It is against the law for non-government agency shelters and rescue orgs to impound/hold stray animals without a AC stray hold.
However, if you claim ownership over the animal and/or feed it/provide water on a regularly basis— we may be able to rescue him /her.
And for our feral pals, we work with TNR organizations to spay/neuter, vaccinate and return them to a safe, feral colony.
