Foster Coordinator

We are seeking a passionate Foster Coordinator to help manage our foster care program and engage with our fosters. As the main point of contact for our foster families, you will ensure they are always supported, providing guidance and assistance to create a positive experience for both the fosters and the cats.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster Communication: Serve as the primary contact between the organization and foster families.

  • Foster Training: Recruit, train, and onboard new foster caregivers.

  • Foster Intake: Coordinate the intake and placement of cats into foster homes.

  • Foster Monitoring: Monitor the well-being of cats in foster care, ensuring proper care and addressing any concerns. Periodic on-site visits may be necessary.

  • Foster Engagement: Facilitate foster family events and engagement initiatives.

  • Foster Data Keeping: Maintain accurate records and notes of foster placements and communications through our animal management software.

  • Foster Support: Maintain regular communication with fosters, providing resources and support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Cats: We require you to love cats dearly with a commitment to our mission

  • Organization: Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Strong + Firm Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Keep things Confidential: Ability to maintain confidentiality about members of our board, our organization’s internal operations and handle sensitive information

  • Tech Savvy: Must be tech-savvy and know how to navigate software and programs..or at least willing to learn!

  • Experience: Previous experience as a foster is preferred, but not required

  • Good Energy: Warm, friendly, enthusiastic personality

Time Commitment: 

This role is structured to be remote, allowing for flexibility; however, it is crucial for the Coordinator to commit to at least 3 dedicated days each week to effectively address the responsibilities associated with the position. The ideal candidate will be able to commit at least 12 hours per week and ensure timely responses to foster inquiries via our shared phone line.
